Xtra’s Muse, a compact gimbal camera that The Verge has reported closely resembles DJI’s Osmo Pocket 3, is selling for $329 at Amazon. According to The Verge’s Cameron Faulkner, that is about $100 below its price from three months ago and the lowest price seen for the Muse so far.
The discount puts the Muse below DJI’s own Osmo Pocket 3, which Faulkner reported is currently down to $378 at multiple retailers after spending much of the year around $500. For buyers trying to get a small stabilized camera for vlogging or travel footage, the price gap is the whole pitch: similar hardware, less money, and a corporate backstory DJI has declined to clarify.
The resemblance is not just a vibes-based internet accusation. The Verge’s Sean Hollister previously reported that the Xtra Muse “appears to be the same product in almost every palpable way,” while noting that DJI would not comment on whether it is involved with Xtra. That leaves buyers with the usual gray-market-adjacent question: whether the savings are worth buying from the lesser-known badge on the box.
The Muse also has one practical limitation crossed off its list. Faulkner reported that the camera originally lacked support for Bluetooth microphones, which ruled out DJI’s wireless mics. Xtra’s February firmware update added wireless mic compatibility, including support for several DJI microphone models, according to the company’s compatibility documentation.
Other reported deals
The same roundup flagged several other discounts, including a cheaper route into Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem on PC. The game is $55.99 on Steam during its summer sale, while Newegg has it for $44.99 when shoppers use the code 5DSUMMER, according to The Verge. Faulkner described that as more than 30 percent off the original price.
Best Buy is also selling Apple’s last-generation 11-inch iPad Air with the M3 chip, 128GB of storage, Wi-Fi, and 5G for $499. Faulkner reported that Amazon and Walmart were either out of stock or selling refurbished units around $450 and up, making Best Buy’s cellular model the stronger deal because the Wi-Fi-only version is listed at the same price.
The comparison to Apple’s newer iPad Air is mostly about cost. According to The Verge, the M4 iPad Air now starts at $749 after Apple’s recent price increases. The older M3 model has a slightly slower chip, 8GB of memory instead of 12GB, and an older wireless radio, but Faulkner reported that it is otherwise nearly the same tablet.
Amazon also has Apple’s black Magic Mouse for $79.99, which The Verge identified as a record low for that color. The white Magic Mouse is often $69 and has fallen as low as $60 during Prime Day, but the black model usually costs more. Faulkner reported its previous dip was $85 last September, with prices since then typically at $95 or higher.
The current Magic Mouse uses USB-C and includes a woven cable. Apple, in its ongoing commitment to making charging feel like a design prank, still puts the port on the underside, so the mouse has to be flipped over when plugged in.
