Apple has raised the monthly cost of Apple Music in the United States and other countries, according to 9to5Mac, with the individual plan moving from $10.99 to $11.99 as of July 17.
The company also increased two Apple One bundle tiers. The bundle changes are smaller than the jump on Apple Music’s family plan, but they still add another couple of dollars to recurring bills for households already paying Apple for storage, music, video, games and other services.
Apple told 9to5Mac that higher music licensing costs drove the Apple Music increase. That is the core mechanism here: Apple pays rights holders for access to the catalog, then passes at least some of that higher cost to subscribers. The company did not provide a detailed breakdown of those licensing costs in the statement reported by 9to5Mac.
The new monthly prices
For Apple Music, 9to5Mac reported the following monthly prices:
- Individual: $11.99, up from $10.99
- Family: $19.99, up from $16.99
- Student: $6.99, up from $5.99
For Apple One, the individual bundle is not changing, while the family and premier bundles are going up:
- Individual: $19.95, unchanged
- Family: $27.95, up from $25.95
- Premier: $39.95, up from $37.95
The Apple One increases matter because the bundle is Apple’s way of keeping customers inside its services stack. A user may think they are paying for Music, TV, iCloud storage and other subscriptions as one convenient line item. Apple still decides which parts of that line item get more expensive, and this time the higher music price appears to be doing some of the lifting.
The biggest increase lands on Apple Music Family, which rises by $3 a month. Individual and Student subscribers each see a $1 monthly increase. Apple One Family and Premier subscribers each see a $2 monthly increase, while Apple One Individual customers avoid a change for now.
Apple follows Spotify, after mocking Spotify
9to5Mac noted that Spotify announced its own US price increases earlier in 2026, after which Apple Music mocked Spotify’s move on social media. Apple has now joined the same general direction of travel, though 9to5Mac reported that Apple Music remains cheaper than Spotify after these changes.
This is Apple Music’s first price increase in almost four years, according to 9to5Mac. The previous Apple Music increase came in October 2022, when the individual plan moved from $9.99 to $10.99 a month. Apple also raised Apple One prices at that time.
Apple’s services pricing has been moving upward in stages. 9to5Mac reported that Apple raised prices for Apple TV, Apple Arcade and Apple News+ in October 2023, along with related Apple One bundles. Apple TV then received another increase in August 2025, while Apple One pricing stayed unchanged during that round.
Subscribers now get the familiar subscription-economy math: a dollar here, two dollars there, and the monthly Apple receipt looks a little less tidy than it did last week.
