Jaguar has published its first clear look at the Jaguar Type 01 interior, showing a four-seat electric grand tourer cabin built around a long central structure that divides the car from front to back. The images answer some design questions before the vehicle’s full October 6 reveal, while leaving the exterior and production specifications under wraps.
The cabin has a stripped-back layout: a low driver’s seat, slim dashboard, digital instrument display and a relatively small central touchscreen. Car and Driver reports that the steering wheel appears to use haptic controls and that two stalks sit on the steering column. There is little conventional switchgear visible in the released images.
A brass-finished center spine or console is the dominant piece of hardware. It runs between all four sculpted seats, with a groove along its center. Jaguar has carried the same linear motif into the doors, dashboard and steering wheel, according to Car and Driver. A single-pane glass roof extends toward the rear of the cabin.
What does the Jaguar Type 01 interior include?

The rear-view arrangement is a more consequential departure than the beige upholstery. Jaguar is replacing a conventional interior mirror with what it calls the ClearSight Rear View Display. The screen sits low on the windshield, roughly level with the exterior door mirrors. Jaguar says that placement is intended to help a driver keep focus; the company has not provided independent evidence for that ergonomic claim.
Jaguar has also referred to concealed storage and technology that remains hidden until needed. Those features are not apparent in the published photographs, The Verge noted, so their operation and scope remain unknown.
When will Jaguar fully reveal the Type 01?
Jaguar is scheduled to show a camouflaged Type 01 prototype during Monterey Car Week before the full public reveal on October 6, according to The Verge and Car and Driver. The company’s public material labels the vehicle a pre-production model and says specifications may change. That means there are still no confirmed figures in the material here for battery capacity, range, price, power output or deliveries.
The Type 01 follows Jaguar’s Type 00 concept, unveiled in 2024. Jaguar says “Type” refers to the marque’s naming lineage, “0” denotes zero tailpipe emissions and “1” signals the first vehicle in a new generation. The manufacturer also describes it as a four-door GT. For now, the interior is the tangible part of that pitch; the rest arrives in October.
