B&H Photo is selling a 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro chip for $2,699, a $400 reduction from the $3,099 list price shown for the configuration. The deal is aimed at buyers who need more than the base memory allotment: this model includes 48GB of unified memory and a 1TB SSD.
The discounted listing is for Apple’s smaller Pro laptop, not the larger 16-inch machine. According to B&H Photo, the system uses an M5 Pro chip with a 15-core CPU and a 16-core GPU. The retailer’s listing also cites a Neural Accelerator in each core, which Apple uses for machine-learning workloads. That does not turn a notebook into a data-center box, despite what half the AI internet would like to believe, but it is relevant for local inference and media tools that can use Apple’s acceleration hardware.
The display is Apple’s 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR panel with a 3024 by 1964 resolution. B&H Photo lists peak HDR brightness at 1,600 nits. The machine also carries Apple’s claimed battery life of up to 24 hours, a figure that depends heavily on workload, brightness and whether the task is browsing text or hammering the CPU and GPU.

Tom’s Hardware said in its review of the 14-inch MacBook Pro that the M5 delivered measurable gains over the M4 generation. In that testing, the M5 CPU posted roughly 10% to 20% better CPU performance than the prior M4 chip. The review also pointed to improved SSD performance and praised the speaker system compared with rival laptops.
There is also a lower-memory version at B&H Photo. The retailer lists a 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro chip and 24GB of RAM for $2,299, with the same hardware and feature set described for the higher-memory model. That option cuts the price by $400 versus the 48GB configuration, at the obvious cost of halving the memory.
As with any retailer discount, the useful number is the checkout price, not the marketing label attached to it. B&H Photo’s listed deal price for the 48GB model is $2,699.
