Best Buy is running an Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 deal that drops the 2025 2-in-1 Chromebook to $559 for the rest of the day. The listed configuration normally costs $749 and includes 12GB of RAM, a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor, and 256GB of UFS storage.
That is a $190 discount on a machine The Verge ranks among the better Chromebooks currently available. The discount also puts a fairly well-equipped convertible ChromeOS laptop under $600, which is the kind of price point where manufacturers often start cutting memory, display quality, or both.
What is the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 514 deal?
The deal applies to Acer’s Chromebook Plus Spin 514 with 12GB of memory, 256GB of storage, and MediaTek’s Kompanio Ultra 910 Arm-based chip. Best Buy lists the laptop at $559, down from $749, for the remainder of the day.
The Spin 514 is a 2-in-1, meaning its hinge lets the display fold back so the device can be used more like a tablet. Acer’s model has a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. A stylus is not included, though The Verge says the laptop works with USI 2.0 styluses.
The Verge reviewer Antonio G. Di Benedetto praised the Spin 514 in an October 2025 review for the performance of its Arm-based processor and for battery life that lasted beyond a day. He also pointed to its keyboard and mechanical trackpad as strengths when used as a standard laptop.
The memory is the quiet part of the deal. Many Chromebooks still ship with 8GB of RAM, which can be fine for lighter use but gets cramped faster if you keep a lot of browser tabs, web apps, and Android apps open. This configuration’s 12GB gives it more breathing room than many cheaper ChromeOS machines.
How does it compare with the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14?
Best Buy is also selling Lenovo’s Chromebook Plus 14 for $649, down from $999. The Verge says Di Benedetto preferred that model slightly over the Acer.
The Lenovo uses the same MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor and has the same 256GB storage amount, according to Best Buy’s listing. Its advantages are 16GB of RAM, an OLED display, better speakers, and fingerprint biometric support. The tradeoff, based on the current prices, is that it costs $90 more than the discounted Acer.
