WIRED says the discounts are not necessarily stronger than Prime Day’s, but its reviewers singled out several products they have tested or recommended. In plain retail English, it is Best Buy’s midyear attempt to pull holiday-style electronics buying into July, which is convenient if a student needs a laptop now or if waiting until November sounds like a self-inflicted support ticket.
TV deals include OLED and art-style screens
WIRED’s list puts the LG B5 OLED near the top of the TV pile. The 48-inch version is listed at Best Buy for $600, down from $650, an 8 percent discount. WIRED describes the B5 as its budget OLED pick and points to natural-looking color and 4K gaming performance as strengths.
Another highlighted set is the Hisense CanvasTV S7N, a 50-inch art-style TV. Best Buy lists it at $650, down from $1,300, while Amazon lists the same size at $648. WIRED notes that the TV includes a library of 1,000 artworks without a subscription and can also show photos from a user’s Google account.
Apple discounts cover a MacBook Air, AirPods and iPad
The Apple MacBook Air with the M5 chip, the 2026 model, is listed by Best Buy at $1,199, down from $1,299. WIRED calls it the MacBook it recommends for most people, while also noting that Apple recently raised the 13-inch model’s price by $200. That means the current discount is still higher than the base price some buyers may remember from earlier in the year.
Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 are listed at $200 at both Best Buy and Amazon, down from about $250. WIRED says former A/V editor Parker Hall gave the earbuds a 9 out of 10 rating, citing improved noise cancellation, four ear tip sizes, heart-rate sensing and live translation tools.
The 2025 iPad with Apple’s A16 chip is also marked down. Best Buy and Amazon list it at $399, down from $449. WIRED says it recommends that iPad for most people, while flagging that it does not have enough RAM for Apple Intelligence.
Tablet and speaker discounts round out the sale
Samsung’s previous-generation Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is listed at Best Buy for $850, down from $1,200. The Galaxy Tab S10 Plus appears at $900 at Best Buy and $749 at Amazon. WIRED says the tablets have multiday battery life and smooth displays.
For portable audio, WIRED highlights the JBL Flip 7 at $100, down from $150, at Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart and JBL. The speaker is rated IP68 for water resistance, has been shock-tested for 1-meter drops and is listed with 14 hours of battery life.
The practical takeaway is boring, which is usually useful: compare prices across retailers before buying. Several of the same products in WIRED’s roundup are also discounted at Amazon, Walmart, Apple, Samsung or JBL, so Best Buy’s sale price is not automatically the floor.
