WIRED has updated its best gifts for mom 2026 guide for July, adding three summer-oriented items to a commerce list that already leaned hard into useful gadgets, reading hardware and household planning screens.

The publication says its editors choose featured products independently, while also disclosing that it may earn compensation from retailers or purchases made through its links. That is the usual affiliate-commerce machinery, dressed up in gift wrap. Readers should treat the prices as reported listings, not promises that a retailer will keep them there.

The new July additions are a Mission Outdoor Cassi Beach Tote listed at $69, a Solbari Resort Wide Brim Sun Hat listed at $79, and linen-blend sheets, according to WIRED’s update note. The guide is pitched for Mother’s Day, birthdays, Christmas, Hanukkah and other gift-giving occasions.

What are the best gifts for mom in 2026?

WIRED’s featured picks put the Mission Outdoor Cassi Beach Tote at the top of the summer list, citing mesh sides, a waterproof bottom and shoulder-friendly straps. The reviewer says the bag has held up over several summers of beach and pool use with towels, swimsuits and other family-hauling cargo inside.

For skin-care gadgets, WIRED highlights the HigherDose Red Light Therapy Face Mask at $349. The guide says red-light masks are marketed for wrinkles, brighter skin and acne control, while the reviewer reports limited change in wrinkles after more than a year of use but better-looking skin and faster calming of acne and scars during regular treatment. That is anecdote, not a clinical finding, which matters when a gadget starts making wellness-adjacent promises.

The same section names the HigherDose Red Light Hat, listed at $449, with Nordstrom showing a $359 sale price in the guide. WIRED says the hat uses red light on the scalp and hair follicles, and the reviewer says regular use improved scalp comfort and hair condition. The hat includes a battery pack, according to the guide.

For family scheduling, WIRED recommends the Skylight Calendar 2, listed at $320 on Amazon. A digital wall calendar is a dedicated screen that syncs with online calendars, so a household schedule can live somewhere more visible than a phone app. WIRED says the Skylight model can show calendars, to-do lists, meal planning, recipes and family photos, though some features, including the photo-frame option and meal planning, require a subscription.

The reading pick is Kobo’s Libra Colour, listed at $260 for the e-reader alone or $330 with a stylus. WIRED prefers it over Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft on price and notes that Kobo’s annotation system lets users write directly on pages. The guide also points to Kobo’s $30 page-turner remote and a $46 Lamicall tablet pillow stand for hands-free reading setups.

Other highlighted summer items include Solbari’s wide-brim hat, which WIRED says promises UPF 50+ protection and has a 4-inch brim, plus a European Linen Sheet Set listed at $465. The guide also frames e-readers, digital wall calendars and smart bird feeders as part of the broader 2026 gift mix, though the excerpted product details focus mostly on summer gear, skin-care devices and reading hardware.
