HostGator is offering July 2026 discounts across several hosting products, according to a WIRED commerce listing by Molly Higgins, with the steepest advertised cut at 76% off a WordPress business plan. The catch, because of course there is one, is that several of the headline prices are based on 36-month commitments.

WIRED says HostGator has operated for more than 20 years and has powered more than 700,000 websites. The company sells the usual hosting stack for people who want a site without becoming a part-time sysadmin: shared web hosting, WordPress hosting, VPS hosting and dedicated servers. WIRED describes the service as aimed at beginners and small businesses, with a user interface intended for non-experts.

The listing says HostGator plans include 24/7 support and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Some offers also bundle a free SSL certificate, first-year domain registration and professional email addresses. Those bundled extras matter because first-time site owners often discover, after buying hosting, that the web is a pile of separate line items wearing a trench coat.

The main hosting discounts

WIRED lists the coupon code SNAPPY for two of the highlighted deals. The Baby web hosting plan is advertised at 70% off when bought on a 36-month plan. According to WIRED, that plan includes support for up to 20 websites, 20GB of storage, one year of domain registration and one-click WordPress installation.

The larger WordPress Business plan gets the biggest advertised reduction: 76% off, bringing it to $5.25 per month on 36-month pricing, according to WIRED. That plan is described as including 50 websites, 50GB of SSD storage, a free domain for the first year, site migration tools, managed WordPress updates, staging-site functionality, advanced security features and expanded marketing tools. WIRED says shoppers should use the HostGator coupon code SNAPPY for that discount.

HostGator’s Pro plan is listed separately at 53% off, with a stated price of $14 per month for 36 months. WIRED describes that tier as the company’s top plan, aimed at sites with as many as 400,000 visits per month. The listed features include 100 websites, 100GB of SSD storage, plus advanced security, marketing and caching tools. WIRED says no coupon code is required for that Pro-plan discount.

Domains, VPS and email

WIRED also lists HostGator domain registration starting at $0.99. The page says customers can search for an available domain name or use HostGator’s AI tool to generate one. A domain can also be included free for one year when bundled with a HostGator hosting plan, according to the listing.

For VPS hosting, WIRED says HostGator is advertising up to 36% off its popular mid-tier plan. The VPS offering is described as using AMD EPYC servers and NVMe storage, with more control, steadier performance and stronger security than basic hosting. WIRED also says the VPS deal includes a free migration tool.

The listing additionally points to HostGator’s branded email service, which lets businesses use email addresses tied to their own domain. WIRED describes it as secure email hosting that can scale with a small business.

As with most hosting promotions, the listed monthly prices are not the whole story. WIRED’s own deal descriptions repeatedly tie the strongest discounts to 36-month terms, so buyers comparing hosts should check renewal pricing, included features and cancellation rules before treating the coupon number as the real long-term cost.
