Sony is running a broad July discount push across its own electronics store, covering televisions, headphones, earbuds, cameras, lenses, gaming accessories and one very Sony answer to summer: a neck-worn cooling gadget.
The largest advertised cut is on Bravia televisions, where Sony lists savings of up to 45 percent. WIRED’s buying guides have rated several Bravia sets highly, including the Bravia 9 QLED, Bravia 8 II OLED and the midrange Bravia 5. As usual with “up to” discounts, the useful number is the one attached to the specific model in the cart, not the one doing laps around the banner ad.
Audio and gaming deals
Sony is also advertising discounts of up to 30 percent on headphones and earbuds. The offers include the WH-1000XM6 over-ear headphones, which WIRED praised for improved sound and noise cancellation, along with the older WH-1000XM5. The WF-1000XM5 true wireless earbuds are included in the sale as well.
The gaming section is more mixed. Sony lists up to $130 off the Inzone H9 wireless noise-canceling gaming headset. It also advertises $20 discounts on the Inzone Buds true wireless noise-canceling gaming earbuds, the Inzone H5 wired gaming headset and other gear. For displays, Sony says buyers can save up to $100 on the 27-inch Inzone M9 II, a 4K, 160Hz full-array LED HDR gaming monitor.
Cameras, email discounts and points
For camera buyers, Sony is offering 15 percent off selected cameras and lenses. WIRED recently named the Sony A7V its top mirrorless camera and also rated the earlier A7 IV highly. The promotion applies to Sony’s interchangeable-lens camera lineup, though the exact final price depends on the product selected.
Sony is also dangling a first-purchase incentive for email signups: 10 percent off a Sony TV or $25 off other Sony products. The company’s My Sony membership program is another layer of the stack, offering points for joining, eligible purchases and other promotions under Sony’s posted terms. Sony describes the membership program as free.
The wearable cooler is back, because of course it is
The Reon Pocket Pro, Sony’s new wearable temperature device, is available for preorder with free shipping and an estimated late-July delivery date. Sony lists the starting price at $260 and says My Sony members can get 5 percent back in points.
The device is a neckband-style unit designed to sit under clothing. Sony says it can switch automatically between cooling and warming modes, run for up to 15 hours of cooling, and use two thermo modules with multiple intensity settings. It also includes four warm-mode levels for colder conditions and can be controlled through a phone app.
None of these promotions changes the usual coupon math: the headline percentage is the ceiling, exclusions matter, and the best deal is still the one attached to hardware you were already going to buy. Sony’s sale does, however, put several of its better-known product lines under discount at the same time.
