Flighty Connection Assistant is the main addition in a new update to the flight-tracking app, giving travelers a trip-specific checklist for making a connecting flight. Flighty says the feature uses its flight data, airport procedures, and statistical modeling from millions of previous flights to show the steps a traveler is likely to face between arrival and departure.
The feature is meant to answer the airport question that usually gets handled by vibes, a sprint, and a half-readable terminal sign: whether a connection is actually workable. For a specific itinerary, Flighty says Connection Assistant can surface terminal changes, security checks, passport control, and other transfer steps, then attach typical timing estimates to each one.
What is Flighty Connection Assistant?
Flighty Connection Assistant is an in-app guide for airport transfers. Rather than showing only flight status, it breaks a connection into the procedural steps a passenger may need to complete at that airport and estimates how long those steps usually take under normal conditions.
According to Flighty, those estimates come from historical patterns and standard airport conditions. The company says users can make the guidance more specific by adding details such as booking class or seat, which may affect how long it takes to leave one flight and reach the next part of the airport.
The app can also personalize international transfer instructions if a user adds passport information. Flighty says the feature can use citizenship details to show whether a traveler may use e-gates, bypass passport control, or needs to complete another step. The company says the app displays only the steps that apply to that traveler.
Flighty also adds gate predictions
The same update adds a Gate Predictions feature. Flighty describes it as an industry-first, which is the company’s claim rather than an independently verified title. The app will use historical data to predict an arrival gate, departure gate, gate range, or concourse for a flight.
That is a different problem from live gate information. Airlines and airports can change gates late, and Flighty’s new feature is framed as a prediction based on past behavior, not a guarantee. Still, for travelers trying to understand whether a tight connection involves one concourse or a cross-terminal hike, even a likely gate range could be useful.
The update builds on Flighty’s existing flight-tracking features, including detailed flight data, delay predictions, and airport intelligence. The new tools push the app further from passive tracker toward active trip planner, though the underlying claims still depend on the quality of Flighty’s models and the airport data behind them.

Flighty is available as a free download on Apple’s App Store. Flighty Pro costs $4.99 per week or $59.99 per year, according to the app’s listed subscription pricing. A lifetime purchase option is also available for $299.
